The Yandex.Browser cache location depends on your operating system.

How can I clear the cache?

To clear the cache:

  1. Click   → Advanced → Clear history.
  2. In the Delete the following items list, select the time range to delete the cache for.
  3. Select the cached files option.
  4. Turn off all the other options (if you only want to delete the browser cache).
  5. Click Clear browsing data.
Tip. To open the Clear browsing data window, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or Shift + + Backspace (Mac OS).

How do I open an incognito window?

In Incognito mode, the browser does not save passwords you enter, search queries, or the addresses of visited sites. However, any changes to settings, downloaded files, and created bookmarks are saved.

To open a window in Incognito mode, use:

  • Menu command: click   → Incognito mode.
  • Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + N (in Windows) or  + Shift + N (in Mac OS).

How can I save my passwords?

Note. By default, passwords are saved in the browser.

To make the browser offer to save your passwords:

  1. Click   → Settings.
  2. In the lower half of the Settings page, click Show advanced settings.
  3. In the Passwords and forms section, enable the Offer to saved website passwords option.

How do I create a new browser profile?

A personal profile is a personalized set of browser settings: the browser appearance, bookmarks, history, passwords, Autofill forms, and installed extensions and plug-ins.

To create your profile:

  1. Click   → Settings.
  2. In the User profiles section, click Add a profile.
  3. Choose a profile icon.
  4. Set a profile name.
  5. If necessary, turn off the option Create a desktop shortcut for this user.
  6. Click Add.

How can I save my profile data?

You can store your profile data on the server, or locally on your computer.

  • On the server. Sync the browser.
  • On a local computer. Copy the data from the browser profile directory to any convenient location on your computer. To open the browser profile directory:

    Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

    1. Open the file search field in Windows.
    2. Copy the line

      [%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Yandex\YandexBrowser\User Data\Default\] (without the brackets)

      and paste it into the file search box.

    3. Press Enter.

    Mac OS

    1. Open Finder.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Yandex/YandexBrowser/Default.

How do I delete browser data?

Note. If you want to keep your personal information secret, use Incognito Mode on all websites where you are unsure about their safety. Deleting all browser data could cause inconvenience for you (for example, if you delete cookies, you automatically exit from accounts on most websites). Hackers could also get your data before you decide to delete it.

To delete your browser data:

  1. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Del (in Windows) or Shift + + Backspace (in Mac OS).
  2. In the Delete the following items list, select the time range to delete the data for.
  3. Select the data types you want to delete.
  4. Click Clear browsing data.

Browser data will be deleted. If syncing is enabled, data deleted from the computer will be deleted from all devices during the next sync.

The following data is accessible for deleting in the Clear browsing data window:

Data type Comments
Browsing history Addresses of web pages you have visited and all IP addresses added by these pages.
Download history List of downloaded files in the browser. The actual files remain on the computer.
Files saved in the cache Web page elements that the browser has saved in the cache in order to load them faster on the next visit.
Cookies and other website data and plug-ins
Saved passwords Passwords that you saved in Yandex.Browser for automatic authentication on websites.
Autofill form data Autofill data that you entered in web forms.
Application data Data of apps that you added to Yandex. Browser.
Media licenses Licenses to reproduce content, for example movies and music you bought. Please cancel the licenses before you sell or donate your computer.

The following data cannot be deleted:

Data type Comments
Extensions Extensions can store data on your computer or in your Yandex account. To erase this information, delete the extension.
Site permissions Handling rules for website elements (pop-up windows, access to a microphone, etc.) and exceptions for specific websites are deleted in Settings.
