Translating pages

Yandex Browser for Mobile automatically detects the language of the loaded page and can translate it into English or other language you choose.

Translation on demand

To translate a page from a foreign language into English, tap the icon on the page or:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Translate page.

In the upper part of the screen, the translation toolbar shows the progress. If you want to stop the translation, tap on the right side of the toolbar.

To go back to the page in the original language, use one of the following options:

In the translation bar, tap Cancel.

Word and phrase translator

Yandex Browser for Mobile translates individual words and sentences. To see the translation of a word or phrase, select it on the page. A popup with the translation will appear at the top of the screen.

To see all translations of a word or phrase:

  1. Select them in the text.
  2. On the toolbar that appears, tap  → Yandex.Translate.

Changing the translation language

Follow these steps to translate a page to the language of your choice:

  1. Translate the page into English the easiest way for you.
  2. Choose your language from the list at the top of the page in the translation bar.

Translating pages automatically

If you want the browser to translate pages automatically when you open them:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to the Yandex.Translate section.
  4. Enable the Automatic page translation option.

Disable translation

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to the Yandex.Translate section.
  4. Disable the Offer to translate pages option.
