Protect: Security for bank cards

Use the bank card manager in Yandex Browser for Mobile to view, change, and delete your card data.

Save a bank card

When you enter your bank card details in Yandex Browser for the first time, the browser asks whether you want to save this information and use it for autofilling online payment forms in the future.

To save bank card data manually:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Select My info → Bank cards.
  3. If you have already set a master password, type it to access the vault.
  4. In the bottom-right corner, tap .
  5. Enter the card number, expiration date, and the cardholder's name (optional).
  6. Tap Save.

Where can I pay?

How is my data protected?

Your data is protected by the PCI DSS standard developed by VISA and MasterCard.

AES-256-GCM encryption is applied with a key used for password encryption. For better protection, create a master password. A key protected with a master password is almost impossible to decipher.

Can any online stores or other online payment recipients access my card data?

Yes, just like when you enter your card details manually.

View card data

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Select My info → Bank cards.
  3. If you have already set a master password, type it to access the vault.
  4. Tap the image of the card.

Change bank card data

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Select My info → Bank cards.
  3. If you have already set a master password, type it to access the vault.
  4. Tap the image of the card.
  5. Tap Edit.
  6. Change the card number, expiration date, or the cardholder's name.
  7. Tap Save.

Delete a bank card

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Select My info → Bank cards.
  3. If you have already set a master password, type it to access the vault.
  4. Tap the image of the card.
  5. Tap Delete card.
  6. Confirm deletion.

Syncing cards

For security reasons, card data is only synced if you're using a master password. Card data is securely protected during synchronization.

Card syncing will be disabled if syncing is fully disabled. To disable only password and card syncing:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Syncing.
  4. Turn off Passwords.

Disable the card manager

Note. If you disable the card manager on your smartphone, it will still stay enabled on other devices.
  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap My info → Settings.
  3. Turn off the Bank card manager option.

The browser will no longer suggest bank card details in payment forms or offer to save cards. Previously entered card data will remain encrypted on your smartphone, and it will be available as soon as you enable the bank card manager again.

To do this, enable the Bank card manager option in the settings.
