Protect: password manager

The Yandex.Browser password manager lets you easily browse, change, and delete your passwords.

View password

If you forgot your password:

  1. Click   → Password manager.
  2. If you already created a master password, enter it in the dialog window that opens.
  3. Find the site that you need your password for. If there are a lot of sites in the list, start entering the site address using the search bar in the upper-left corner.
  4. Click the name of the appropriate site.
  5. In the window that opens, click in the Password field.

Change password

  1. Click   → Password manager.
  2. If you already created a master password, enter it in the dialog window that opens.
  3. Find the site that you want to change your password for. If there are a lot of sites in the list, start entering the site address using the search bar in the upper-left corner.
  4. Click the name of the appropriate site.
  5. In the Password field, enter your new password.. To check that you entered your password correctly, click .

Delete password

  1. Click   → Password manager.
  2. If you already created a master password, enter it in the dialog window that opens.
  3. Find the site that you want to delete your password for. If there are a lot of sites in the list, start entering the site address using the search bar in the upper-left corner.
  4. Click on the favicon to the left of the appropriate site.
  5. In the lower part of the window, click the Delete link.
    Tip. If you deleted a password by mistake, you can reinstate it immediately after you delete it. In the lower-left corner of the password manager, click the Restore link. If you reload the page or go to a different tab, the link will become unavailable.

Disable password manager

If you use a third-party password manager, and don't want Yandex.Browser to save and insert passwords, disable the browser's password manager.

  1. Click   → Password manager.
  2. If you already created a master password, enter it in the dialog window that opens.
  3. In the tab that opens, go to the Settings.
  4. Click Disable password manager.

That way, the browser will stop saving passwords and inserting them into authorization forms and will not request your master password to access your vault. Your passwords will remain encrypted on your computer and you can still access them if you re-enable the password manager. Just click Enable password manager in the password manager settings.
