Query history

This section contains statistics on the search queries available in the Recent queries section. The data is presented in several dimensions:

  • Groups — Contains statistics on the query groups available in the Recent queries section.
  • Popular queries — Contains statistics on the queries with the most impressions for the last three months (counts the first 3000 positions).
  • Saved queries — Contains statistics on phrases that the user copied to this section.

The statistics include three indicators: impressions, clicks and CTR. There are additional indicators, such as impressions on certain positions, clicks from certain positions, and so on. You can generate a separate report on each indicator. The data is updated daily. The information provided in Yandex.Webmaster may differ from the data in other Yandex services.

You can get statistics using several ways, for example:

  • Generate a consolidated report on all available indicators, choosing only the desired group.
  • See the dynamics for a specific indicator in all query groups or in a certain query group.
  • Track the dynamics of all available indicators for a certain search query.
  • Track the dynamics of one indicator for a query group or for a certain query.

  4. Specify the date range to get the information for.
  5. If necessary, change the detail level of the selected time period: days, weeks or months.

You can also select a certain group and see statistics on common indicators.

Difference in statistics

The data presented in Yandex.Webmaster can differ from the data in the Yandex Keyword Statistics and Yandex.Metrica. For example, services might record the click time differently (for clicks at 23:59). The time zone difference can be another reason for discrepancies.

Main reasons why the data in Yandex.Webmaster and Yandex Keyword Statistics differs:

  • Yandex.Webmaster counts impressions and clicks up to the 50th position, which is only a part of the data.
  • The data may be displayed with a delay. For example, in the Keyword Statistics the difference between getting the data and displaying it may take about a month.

The data in Yandex.Webmaster is different from the data in Yandex.Metrica because Yandex.Webmaster only counts clicks from the search results. The Yandex.Metrica keywords report shows the sessions for these clicks. The number of clicks is not always equal to the number of sessions, since Yandex.Metrica might not count a click as a session. This happens if:

  • The site is not available when the link is clicked.
  • The Yandex.Metrica tag is installed on the site incorrectly.
  • There is no Yandex.Metrica tag on the page the user opens from the search results.
  • The user's browser didn't manage to download the code snippet in time.
  • The HTTP header Referer is unavailable. It is impossible to count the visits from the search engine.
