  3. Configuring notifications

Collecting information

You can track any URL on the site or use the recommendations of Yandex.Webmaster.

To start tracking:

  1. Go to the Indexing → Important pages section of Yandex.Webmaster.
  2. Enter the URL of the page you want to track.

You can enter the full URL or the path from the site root starting with “/”. For example, if you enter the URL as http://example.com, the system processes information about the page with the URL http://example.com. If you enter /news, the system processes information about the page with the URL http://my-website.com/news.

  3. Click the Track button.

Collecting and processing the information takes a few minutes. In some cases this may take several hours.

Note. You can add up to 100 URLs for one site in this field. If you reach this limit, the recommended pages aren't displayed. The report can contain up to 100 changes for each specified URL.

Page status

Yandex.Webmaster displays the page status at the moment of the last crawl and the last update of the search database.

After the URL is added and the data about it is collected, you can find the important information about the current status of the page in Yandex.Webmaster:

  • The date when the page was last crawled and the server's response.
  • The page version and status in the search (for example, “Included in the search”).

Yandex.Webmaster constantly checks what is presented in the search and what information the search robot gets. When the robot detects changes on the page or when the page status in the search database is changed, Yandex.Webmaster displays this information. The change is highlighted with color:

  • Modification date.
  • The date when the page was last crawled and the server's response.
  • The page version and status in the search.

To view the history of changes, click the icon next to the URL. If necessary, you can continue working with the checked page. To do this:

To learn about the changes right away, you can configure notifications about significant events.

Configuring notifications

To subscribe to change notifications, click the Notification settings button in the Important pages section. Notifications are configured for all specified URLs.

You can receive messages in Yandex.Webmaster or by email (specify it in the Yandex.Webmaster settingsYandex.Webmaster settings).

By default, notifications inform about changes in the server response code when the page is crawled, changes in the page status in the search and changes in the page title (the content of the title element).

You can select other notifications and how you want to receive them. For example:
